But don’t take my word for it…

Here are two great quotes about the stories you’ll find in THE LOVE BOOK:

“If The Velvet Underground’s debut had been a short story collection, it may well have read like The Love Book.”

Mike Bennett, author of One Among The Sleepless and Hall of Mirrors

“When Ken decided to shut down Bully, I wondered what he was going to do. The Love Book is part of the answer to that. Ken has transformed himself in the last several years from a Menckenesque curmudgeon, hilariously skewering all aspects of pop culture, to a serious short story writer with a truly original and refreshing vision. These are stories that actually dare to be about things—that is, they have characters who are invested, committed, or otherwise trapped in certain strange or absurd lives who are looking for freedom and release. It’s the basis of all great fiction, imo.”

Tim Hall, author of Half Empty and Triumph of the Won’t

A Recommendation: Two Podcasts from Mike Bennett

One of the joys of joining the gang of authors who podcast their work is discovering writers whose books you normally would not be able to find in the local book shop. A great find for me has been the stories of Mike Bennett who I first stumbled upon via his podcast for One Among the Sleepless. It’s a very gritty, yet quite funny book and Mike’s reading of it instantly grabs you.

Mike has just launched his new audiobook podcast, Hall of Mirrors, a short story collection featuring tales of horror, the grotesque and people in ‘unusual’ circumstances.’ If you were a fan of “Taking the Happy Bus On Home” or “On Time” from my podcast for The Love Book, then you’ll really dig Mike’s work.
