A New Book (and a Soundtrack to Boot!)

I’m proud to announce that SONGS OF VAGABONDS, MISFITS, AND SINNERS, my brand new short story collection from Bully Press, is now available worldwide as both a paperback and an ebook. The collection includes five gritty tales set in New York City, a town full of characters who are as out of place in their own skins as they are in the ever-evolving neighborhoods they call home. On this literary tour of the city, you’ll be visiting Carroll Gardens, Hell’s Kitchen, North and South Williamsburg, Washington Heights, Union Square, the East and West Village, and the Financial District (for a brief spot of entertainment). For those that have read The Love Book, the same grit and humor is there, as are the great characters.

In addition to the new book, there is an original soundtrack recorded by yours truly. The soundtrack is inspired by great movie scores from Ennio Morricone, John Carpenter, Neil Young, Nick Cave, and John Barry, as well as garage rock, no wave, old-school punk, and ’60s surf tunes. Each theme captures the mood and energy of the stories, almost as if you found five great soundtrack singles in a vinyl bin. You can listen to full length versions of the tracks below or click on the links to buy. You can buy individual tracks or the full album. The iTunes version includes a special bonus track of all five themes as a single 18-minute-plus opus.

Songs of Vagabonds, Misfits, and Sinners will be more like a multimedia project than just a book release, so look for photography, podcasts, and video to follow in the upcoming weeks.
